Newport is a vibrant market town on the edge of Telford.
Newport Town Council is looking to recruit a Senior Administration Officer to primarily work out of its offices in the Guildhall. The post, which is a newly created role, has been developed as part of a review of business continuity and forward planning to meet the aspirations and objectives of the town council.
We are seeking a pro-active Senior Administration Officer to ensure the smooth delivery of all town events including civic events, civil ceremonies and funerals.
We need a highly organised individual as the Senior Administration Officer is also responsible for administering Council meetings, managing event budgets and promoting events via our social media channels.
The Guildhall is a popular wedding (and other civil ceremonies) venue. We have around 20 weddings a year at the Guildhall, mostly on Saturdays and sometimes more than one on a day. The successful candidate will be required to facilitate some wedding ceremonies including opening the premises, liaising with the registrar, meet and greeting the wedding party. Funeral’s average 38 per year and mostly take place during weekdays, the successful candidate will be required to be in attendance, coordinating with the funeral director and celebrant and on occasions may be required to officiate at the graveside. Full training will be provided.
This post is for 30 hours per week and the salary is £18,301 to £19,041 actual pro rated dependant on experience.
