Peter has been an Independent Town Councillor for the East ward for the last 12 years and a Borough Councillor for the Telford and Wrekin North & West ward for over 6 years. Born and bred in Newport he has always taken an active interest in the town and been a member of many local organisations. A committed councillor, he has chaired the Leisure and Environmental Services Committee and has been Town Mayor and Council Chairman for the last 3 years. In that time he has raised thousands of pounds for many local charities including the Newport X Ray Appeal and Newport Food Bank.

Peter is passionate about the environment and has an ongoing Newport Tree Project in his spare time and expects to plant 1000 trees in Newport over 5 years. When not planting trees or tree seeds he can be found on the golf course if time allows.  He also set up and runs the Newport Community Walking Group and the Newport Community Litter Pickers. A very community minded councillor he does try to involve as many of the community in all of his projects.

He also helped launched the Choose Newport campaign that assists our local businesses and runs their Facebook and Twitter pages.

Peter is happy to discuss any Newport related issues and to give relevant advice where required. He can be contacted via the Newport Town Council website, Facebook or Twitter. You will often see him around the area and he is always happy to stop and listen to any enquires or concerns.
