I grew up in Newport and attended school from infant through to secondary, it all seems so long ago now.

After leaving school I spent a spell taking an engineering apprenticeship at the now defunct Greenwood Moore, and then in 1979 made the decision to join the Army and served for over 22 years all around the world.

In 1993 my wife and I decided to move back to Newport to settle the children into school and I continued to serve until 2002, I retired from that life and started on a varied career that now sees me as a Health & Safety Advisor to one of the biggest employers based in Telford.

Through my life I have always believed that giving back by volunteering is important wether it be a scout leader, or the Vice chair or Chair of the Newport RBL Club, an erstwhile Knight in the St George’s day celebrations or even a presenter on Newport’s Volunteer run Nova FM.

This is my second stint as a councillor I previously served in the South Ward

But am now delighted to serve the North Ward.

I simply have an immense pride in Newport and wish to continue to try and help and improve our town in whatever small way I can.
